Sodalite is a blue gemstone with white veins. Its name comes from the Greek "soda" which means "sodium" and lithos for "stone". It is therefore the sodium stone. For the Greeks it is the stone of the prophets. For the Chinese and the Japanese, sodalite represents the restoration of social order. This fine stone has a hardness between 5.5 and 6 on the Mohs scale.
